Bisons take Titans in 8-2 final
After getting off to a late start, with the game – scheduled for an 8:30 p.m. start – not getting underway until 9 p.m., the Bisons also had to deal with a slow start, at least on the scoreboard.
The two teams left the first period tied 2-2, even though Wainwright outshot the Titans by a 20-8 margin. It was a lopsided offensive output that would continue throughout the game, with Wainwright finishing the night with eight goals on 60 shots.
Jess Valleau was key in Wainwright’s win, factoring in on all but one of the team’s eight-goal output. Valleau finished the night with four goals and three assists. Cody Woodward continued to rack up points as well, with a goal and three assists for a four-point night.
The Bisons will take on the league-leading Vegreville Rangers, Sunday afternoon.
